Memorandum of Cooperation Signed at the Parliament of Georgia
An important meeting was held at the Parliament of Georgia within the framework of the ongoing project on sustainable management of electrical and electronic waste. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in the environmental sector and raise public awareness about responsible waste management practices.
The event was opened by Maia Bitadze. Welcome speeches were also delivered by Nino Tsilosani and Kakha Okrojanashvili, who emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation and increasing environmental responsibility.
During the event, Giorgi Guliashvili presented modern approaches to electronic waste management and introduced the ongoing initiatives of Wasteless. Special attention was given to the ongoing “Eco-Friendly Kakheti 2026” campaign, within which environmental activities and awareness-raising projects are actively being implemented across the region.
One of the key parts of the meeting was the presentations delivered by interns of the Parliament of Georgia on waste management and environmental protection topics. Their active participation once again highlighted the important role of the younger generation in building a sustainable future.
At the end of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Wasteless and Parliament of Georgia, marking another significant step toward future collaboration in the environmental field.
As part of the memorandum, special Wasteless collection boxes for electronic waste and batteries were installed inside the Parliament building. This initiative will contribute to the proper management of electronic waste and help reduce its negative environmental impact.
The involvement of the Parliament of Georgia in this initiative serves as an important example for other organizations and institutions, reinforcing the idea that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and that such collaborations play a vital role in sustainable development.
