Sustainable Management of Specific Waste in Poti and Khobi

As part of the "Green Future, Rights and Stability" regional project supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Denmark, Wasteless is implementing a joint initiative in the municipalities of Poti and Khobi focused on the sustainable management of specific types of waste.

The main objective of the project is to raise local awareness about proper waste management, collection, and recycling practices — particularly regarding batteries and electronic waste.

The project includes:

  • Educational activities in schools
  • Installation of dedicated battery and e-waste collection points
  • A final eco-festival featuring e-waste collection days, interactive activities, and prize raffles
  • Workshops and presentations with local governments and private sector representatives
  • Teacher trainings on waste management and environmental education

As part of the awareness campaign, we will visit schools in Poti and Khobi to deliver trainings on waste management, environmental protection, and sustainable development principles. After each session, special collection boxes for electronic waste will be placed in schools, allowing students to properly dispose of e-waste for recycling.

In June, a large-scale festival will take place in the central parks of Poti and Khobi. Visitors can enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with live music, games, raffles, and fun surprises. Everyone who brings unusable electronic waste will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win brand new electronics, including a laptop, TV, or refrigerator.
